Welcome!

I’m Demetra Markis, offering over 16 years of clinical experience in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to bring you back to balance and harmony.

What can acupuncture do for you?:

Need relief? You are in the right place.

  • Acupuncture can help relieve all kinds of pain, whether acute or chronic, muscle, tendon, nerve, or skeletal. Different conditions benefit from different types of treatments; in my career I have had success with even very stubborn cases.

  • Feeling overwhelmed? Acupuncture restores the harmony of your nervous system, reminding it how to shift into rest mode. Find relief for stress and anxiety with gentle acupuncture treatments in a peaceful environment.

  • Navigating a big life change? Acupuncture is a wonderful support tool during these times. I often work with people who are in the midst of a medical process, starting a fertility journey, or simply looking for a better way to manage the changes that come with getting older.

  • From allergies to thriving during cold and flu season, acupuncture and Chinese herbs can boost energy and support healthy immunity naturally. Chinese herbal medicine is remarkable for its efficacy when customized for each person.

  • The purpose of acupuncture is to restore harmony to a system that has fallen into a pattern of dysfunction. The practice works best when the pattern is correctly identified by your provider, and then treatments are created to heal the pattern as much as possible. Your first visit with me always include time for a consultation; if you have an unusual or difficult condition, let’s talk and see what can be done.

How We Work Together:

1. Schedule Your Appointment

I’ve designed my practice to be flexible, so you can schedule next-day or same-day appointments. I’ve also made it easy by setting up an online platform where you can fill out a quick form, submit your insurance info if you have it, and see the calendar. Calling to schedule is also just fine!

2. Consultation and First Treatment

During your first visit, we’ll go over the reason you’ve come in as well as your health in general. I’ll make sure to cover all the details in order to understand how best to support your health goals. Then you get to relax and get treated! Allow an hour for this visit.

3. We Create Your Treatment Plan

At the end of your first treatment, we’ll talk about how you felt and what to expect in the next few days. I’ll also suggest a time and frequency based on what you need and your availability. We can set up your next appointment then or you’re welcome to check your calendar at home and do it online. If you will be taking herbs, we’ll discuss them too.

“I’ve dedicated my career to the practice of community acupuncture, because in my experience, it’s the best way to give you the care you need to get the results you deserve.”
